About Us
A Montana family-owned business, Roundwood West Corporation (RWC), is known for competitively priced, quality doweled roundwood. In 1974, David and Jan Guelff bought a Morbark peeler and started Nine Mile Posts and Rails west of Missoula, Montana.

In 1989, the postyard was relocated to Seeley Lake, Montana and became Roundwood West. Ten years later, daughter Karen and husband Kalvin Kovatch joined the business.

RWC now runs an unprecedented multi-diameter rounding machine with a power infeed system which was developed and built in-house. This machine is supported by an auto-stacking robot solidifying RWC as a leader in postyard manufacturing. Furniture-quality roundwood, preserved fence posts and rails, and some unpeeled wood make up the majority of RWC's markets. Many of the doweled rails are split to produce a high-end symmetrical half rail.
